Shalom Everyone -

Can you believe it's already December?  We got home from visiting Angie's family in Ohio to a temperatures that were much cooler than what we had up north.  'Seems the cold front passed through East Texas a few hours sooner than it did in central Ohio.  We drove through rain all the way from Columbus to Little Rock, then within a few miles, the sky cleared and we saw brilliant stars and the crescent of the moon.

Speaking of the moon . . . I want to thank John and Sheila for hosting the New Moon celebration on Saturday night.  There was a little confusion at first, but when it was brought to their attention - they jumped right in to get things cleared up.

Angie and I enjoyed the New Moon at her brother's place.  Ang and I, along with granddaughter Jaycie and our nephew's son Andrew, had walked the 3/4 miles from her mother's home to her brothers place - the "over the river and through the woods" thing.  When we arrived it was just after sundown.  As everyone else went inside, I invited her brother Mike and to continued with me on up the hill.  I told him I wanted to see if I could find the New Moon.  Looking puzzled at my endeavour, I explained to him the purpose of the New Moon in regards to the Biblical festivals.  As we neared the top of the hill (it was just a few yards beyond the house) there it was in the western sky.

I got a call this week from Frank Houtz asking if we'd be interested in hosting him for a two-day seminar sometime in February.  If you remember - Frank gave a seminar here March of 2007 where he taught about Biblical Research Techniques.  This seminar is about equipping believers with knowledge about the Bible that most Jewish people understand and that most Christians mis-understand.

One example he gave was how most Christians believe the sin sacrifice pertained to all sin while the Jews understand it only pertained to unintentional sin.  He goes through the OT scriptures to explain the sin sacrifice, then shows how many Christians mis-understand it's application in the NT.

The seminar is 8 hours long, and he'd like to do it on a Friday night and continue it on the Sabbath.  I've got a location in mind.

At this very moment, Angie is in Gladewater picking up the key, so we'll be at GHA again this week as usual - 12:00 PM.  We'll do part 2 of the study "What is the Church" and answer the question "What does it mean - 'I will build My church'".

Shalom Aleichem
