. . .
was founded February 12, 2005 at the same location we're presently at, the
Gladewater Housing Authority building. At that first meeting there were
only about 12 people, 6 of them children. Our vision was to have a
community of believers who simply want to study the scriptures together
without the constraints of 'doctrine' getting in the way of discovering the
truth YHWH had hidden in His Word.
We are now in our fourth year and have grown to an average attendance of
about 16. Even though we spend about a third of
our time during each Sabbath fellowship discussing the same portion of
scripture as we had a year ago (the foundational portion of the Bible called the 'Torah') we gain
more insight into God's way each time we study it. We feel that it's very rewarding.
On a typical Sabbath, we will normally have a Torah Study followed by
either a Hebrew Class or a Dance Class. We welcome you to come worship,
sing, dance, and study with us!

Nearly every Shabbat the Ami Yisrael Hebraic Fellowship meets at the
Gladewater Housing Authority building in Gladewater, Texas. We typically
start at 12:00 PM. We begin
ith prayer, Hebraic song and dance, and the
repetition of the 'Shema' and the 'Aaronic Blessing'.
After taking a few minutes for announcements, prayer requests and praise
reports, we start into the reading and study of that particular week's Torah
Portion. Our studies are interactive. We have no pastor or
teacher. Everyone participates. The reading and study generally
lasts till about 2:30, at which time we break for snacks.
After a 20-30 minute break, we either begin a study of a New Testament
portion of scripture or do a topical study. Occasionally, someone will
present a topic. We usually finish by around 4:30 PM.
Key Schedule
Since the summer of 2007, the Ami Yisrael Hebraic Fellowship has been
studying the Hebrew Language. Our textbook is "Hebrew Word Pictures" by
Frank Seekins. Tim Kelley has been leading the class.
We try to have our classes every other week after the regular Sabbath
Torah Study, but it doesn't always work out that way. 'Seems like
there's always something that comes up and we don't get to stay.
Never-the-less, we're making headway and are really enjoying the added
understanding of the Hebrew scriptures that even a very elementary knowledge
of Hebrew has given us.
Hebraic Dance is a very big part of our worship and praise. In order
to help everyone to learn and be confident in the dance, Angie Kelley teach
dance every other week, more or less. Our classes are usually after the
Sabbath Torah Study and last about an hour. You don't have to be an
experienced dancer to attend the class - we'll bring you up to speed.
By the way - you don't have to be a good dancer to participate in the
worship and praise portion of our weekly service. If you don't dance,
you can certainly sing!
